The real reason for this post is to describe the best customer service ever!
Last Fri we contacted Tom Anderson, owner of the Landing Gear Co, and told him we were getting the plane ready for a trip on this Tuesday and described the problem we had found. After some discussion he had us ship it to him for a Saturday arrival at his residence! He then took it apart and reported to us that he found the problem and it was due to a failure of a Cessna part they use in the buildup of their wheel---he found that the part did not meet the Rockwell hardness specs and that led to cascade of issues in the wheel. The hub was scored some and the fork actually had a small crack from the stress of the assembly not breaking loose. He stated they would repair the hub, putting in new parts as necessary and install a brand new fork. He said he accepted responsibility for the bad part that started the problems and therefore he would warranty the wheel even though the warranty period had expires.
As you can see, a really honest and professional guy! Can't imagine any better service. Posted this just to let others know that there are good guys out there and Tom is certainly one of them.
